Off in the distant Jamie heard a door open. *Oh shit…* She threw Mark off of her with a start and told him to go hide. She brushed her oddly colored hair quickly and reapplied her bright-pink lip-gloss. She walked out of her room to make sure it was Sarah, and when she saw it was, she went back into her room and told Mark to pretend to have just come out of the bathroom. She ran into the living room that was on the other side of the apartment and threw herself on the couch. She pretended to be interested in a magazine as Sarah made her way over. “I’m not stupid, you know. I am quite certain that you and Mark were in your room about to do something.” “Damn. Fine, Mark, come on out. She knows.” Mark made his way into the living room. “Mark, sit. Now.” As Mark sat, she gave him a smile that showed great contempt in it. “Ok you two, I know that you have reached the age that you are ready to have sex whenever you want, or so you think, but come on. If you’re going to do it, don’t hide it from me. You both already know what my… job is, so don’t act like it’s a big deal if you get caught about to do it. But… don’t EVER do that under the roof that I am providing for you. And don’t you fucking come to me when you get pregnant. Don’t ask for birth control, NOTHING. I do not approve of you doing this at your age.” “Sarah, I’m 17. Come on. And we’ve been together for over a year. If it helps anything, we’ve never done it yet. And we weren’t planning on doing it back there. I just hid that we were back there so you wouldn’t throw a fit, like you are now. I’d a perfect little angel!” Sarah looked over Jamie’s weird choice of clothes for the day, which happened to be a weird band shirt with some satanic insignia on it, a black and red plaid skirt with striped leggings, and converse, and laughed sarcastically “You know I hate when you say that. It‘s just so…” “Truthful?” Jamie grinned big, and Sarah lost all thoughts of anger. She jumped on Jamie and gave her a big hug. Mark was starting to feel awkward. He hated it when they fought then just… pounced on each other in laughter. It confused him so. “Er… I guess I’m just going to leave now…” “Oh wait, no! I command you to stay for dinner! We‘re having a home cooked mean tonight!” It was quite weird that it was Sarah that sad this over Jamie, but then again, Jamie was in a fit of laughter. But Sarah practically hates him, so why the sudden… niceness? “Oh, uh, ok? Jamie, you don’t mind, right?” She suddenly stopped laughing, which was quite odd, considering she had been on the ground clutching her sides, and looked at him suddenly very seriously. She stood up swiftly, then ran and tackled him to the ground and kissed his nose. “Of course, silly! Why wouldn’t I?” She started tickling him. Sarah got up and watched them. Jamie had pretty much won, just as long as Mark didn’t start tickling back. But by the looks of it, Mark was pretty darn ticklish. It was mildly amusing to watch. After Mark had regained some composure and air, he threw Jamie down and started tickling her. She got bored after about five minutes, and left to make dinner. Sarah started on making dinner, when she noticed that everything was suddenly quiet, but in an eerie way. She left the kitchen and went into the living room. The scene that was there was the scariest (and not to mention, almost amusing) scene in the world. Mark was shoved down on top of Jamie while a knife was being pointed onto his back, and a gun was pointed at Jamie’s head. Several men by Sarah jumped at her and grabbed her down. “Now that we’ve got her, let the other 2 go. We don’t need them.” “Sir, the girl here, she’s quite beautiful. Such a waste to let her go…” “Fine! Take her if you want! If you get in trouble, so be it!” With that they all left, and Mark was left there dumbstruck and wondering what to do. He knew they weren’t human, for he worked over them. But they weren’t supposed to touch Jamie. She was to be his to change when the time came, not become another slave. He turned on the spot and turned up at the castle that was supposed to be where they were being taken. He went inside and started talking around to see if anyone knew anything about what happened earlier. After about 10 minutes of asking around, he went into a room and saw Sarah being measured. She looked over at him and just stared. After a minute, she said, “Perfect... Just perfect. So you were in on this? My own sister‘s boyfriend, and you planned this?” “You know about us?” “Well yeah, I had to… do business with one and we got to talking. So tell me, do you know Jeremy by any chance?” “We‘ve met a couple of times.” “So why did you let them take my sister, too? I was told that it was only going to be me taken.” It’s not like-” “I thought that you’d have at least tried to stop them. She doesn’t need this.” “Why do you think I‘ve come? I’d have been killed if I tried to stop them back there. She wasn’t supposed to be touched at all, so I’m coming to get her back before she’s sold. She doesn’t belong to any of them. I’d already told the Highers that she wasn’t to be harmed. I guess that Demetrius didn’t realize who it was. But no matter. Oh, and I hope you weren’t planning on me saving you. You can’t be. You’ve already been given an owner and everything, so no point. Jamie, though, still has hope.” “I never wanted saving, you ass. I just don’t want my sister turning into a vampire’s bitch. That’s nothing new for me. Just go get her before the worst can happen.” With that, Mark smirked at her, then turned and left. He went into another room to see what was happening to Jamie. She was attempting to fight of some big guy that was trying to get onto this couch thing for Lord knows what. “Barry! Get away from her now! I will personally hurt you if you don’t.” “Just because of who your father is…” “She belongs to me. Now go, before I hurt you” Barty was about to retort back, but decided against it, and left. Mark turned to Jamie. “Are you ok?” “You’re one of them? You put them up to doing this to me? Was the only reason we were together was to get me to come here?” He looked down for a moment, then simply said, “Let me take you home, then I can explain everything. I promise.” “Mark, I can’t. I don’t think I can trust you anymore. I’ve been with you for almost a year, and you never told me. What did you think? You already know I love anything weird, what’s to say that I wouldn’t still love you? I mean… that’s just a big deal. That’s a year that you’ve been hiding something so huge from me.” Right then, a man appeared out of no where. “Mark? What’re you doing?” “I should ask the same, Jeremy” “You have no right to be conversing with prisoners, and you know that. Especially one that‘s owned by me.”
